The assignment
"With 3 offices and 18 locations, it was a time-consuming chore to collect all the data. We were looking for an efficient means to centralise the information and control over the whole process", says Peter Appel, Manager.
The solution
The trucks are fitted with the CarCube, an on-board computer with integrated data communication, navigation and track & trace all in one. The next step is integration with Fleetwatch, the payroll software and with Navitrans, the Transport Management System.
The impact
"Thanks to CarCube, our planning people have a quicker overview of the position of the vehicles, which makes their job a lot less stressful. Even our customers have access to Fleetworks so that we can track their loads live. Transparency and efficiency are two of the keywords in our corporate culture", says Peter Appel, "and our customers appreciate that. Improved control over driving times and rest periods makes our payroll administration faster and more accurate too".
The reporting function is convenient as well: via the CarCube, for example, we can get our driver to pick up an extra load, or ask whether he is available for work on Saturday, or he can call for assistance if his truck breaks down. In other words, the CarCube gives us a quick, accurate picture of our processes, from right here in the office."
Our decision
